Parp lives with and serves the Priest Kings in the Sardar Mountains
Tobacco is unknown on the rest of Gor
To my amazement a man stepped from the passage, blinking in
the sun. He was clad in a white robe, somewhat resembling
those of the Initiates. He wore sandals. His cheeks were
red and his head bald. He had long whiskery sideburns which
flared merrily from his muffinlike face. Small bright eyes
twinkled under heavy white eyebrows. Most was I surprised to
find him holding a tiny, round pipe from which curled a
bright wisp of smoke. Tobacco is unknown on Gor, though
there are certain vices or habits to take its place, in
particular the stimulation afforded by chewing on the leaves
of the Kanda plant, the roots of which, oddly enough, when
ground and dried, constitute an extremely deadly poison.

Cigarettes on Gor
Quotes about cigarettes are taken from the book "Captives".
Elinor Brinton is a model living in an apartment in New York City, on earth
Elinor smokes while living on earth. I was awakened by the sun streaming through the curtains. I stretched. It
was a warm, lazy day. It was near noon. I sleep nude, between white satin
sheets. I reached over to the ashtray on the night table near the bed and
lit a cigarette. There was nothing unusual about the room.
...
The cigarette did not taste well, but I had wanted it. I lay again on top of
the sheets and stretched again, then swung my legs over the side of the bed
and into my slippers. I pulled on a silken peignoir. I jammed the cigarette
down into the ashtray and went to the bathroom to shower.
Captive
Men from the planet of Gor, working on a Ship of Acquisition, enter Elinors
apartment ON Earth, bind her, give her a shot, and light one of her cigarettes The larger man left the room. The smaller lingered. He went to the night
table and took one of my cigarettes and with one of my tiny, fine matches,
imported from Paris, lit it.
He threw the match into the ash tray. He touched me again, this time
intimately, but I could not cry out. I began to lose consciousness. He blew
smoke into my eyes and noes, leaning over me. I struggled weakly against the
bonds, fighting to stay conscious.
Captive
Much later, Elinor is a slave on Gor and recognizes the man who captured her. The man
who bound her and blew smoke in her face in her apartment back on earth. "You!’ I whispered. It was the smaller man, one of those who had originally
captured, and had bound me on my own bed in the penthouse. It was he who had
entered the syringe in my right side, in the back, between my waist and hip,
drugging me. It was he who had touched me intimately, who had been warned away
from me by the larger man. It was he who had taken my matches and cigarettes,
who had leaned over me, and had blown smoke, as I had lain nude before him,
bound and gagged, into my face.
Captive
This man, who captured her from earth, to Elinors surprise, now offers her the robe she
had in her apartment back in NYC, and her brand of cigarettes.
He has brought these items from earth, for her.
He is about to explain a major plot she is epected to be involved in
He stood near the bench. In his arms he held a red-silk full-length, belted
lounging robe, with a high, throat-inclosing figured, brocade collar.
"Please," he invited.
I approached him numbly, and turned. He held the robe for me, as might have
an escort. He helped me slip it on.
"It’s mine," I whispered. I remembered the robe.
"It was yours," he said.
I looked at him. What he said was true. I could own nothing. It was rather I,
who was owned.
I belted the robe.
"You are lovely," he commented.
I fastened the high, figured, brocade collar about my throat.
I regarded him, once again my own woman.
"Yes," he said, "you are very lovely, Miss Brinton."
...
"Cigarette?" asked the man.
I looked at him. "Yes," I whispered.
He produced two cigarettes from a flat, golden case. They were my brand.
With a small match, he lit my cigarette for me, and then his. He threw the
match into the fire.
I fumbled with the cigarette. My hand shook.
"Are you nervous?" he asked.
"Return me to Earth!" I whispered.

The beast the man has had chained outside goes into a frenzy
The man, who had brought some of Elinors cigarettes from earth for her, is
frightened off by the beast and disappears into the night The beast was in its feeding frenzy. I suspected it could not then be
controlled. Surely the man, who knew more than I of such matters, was almost
beside himself with terror.
"Stop!’ cried the man.
The beast looked at him, eyes blazing, its face drenched in blood.
"Obey your master!" I cried. "Obey your master!"
The beast looked at me. I shall never forget the horror I felt. "I am the
master," it said.
The man cried out and fled from the hut. I, forgotten by the beast in its
feeding, inched toward the door, and then, hearing the feeding of the beast
behind me, fled, naked and bound, into the darkness.
