Merchants specializing in certain goods, on Gor

Iron Merchant
Has wagons loaded full of iron ingots on his trade route from supplier to buyer
You know Zarto, the iron merchant? "No," I said. "He lost his wagons of ingots," said the man.
Rogue

Perfume Merchant
Transporting eight stone of perfumes on trade route
(8 stone=32 pounds. Perfume generally comes in small two-hort vials - see quote below- if each vial was one ounce, he would be transporting over 500 vials

"Beside him, masked is Horemius. Eight stone of perfumes were taken from him. There, farther to the left, in the brown mask is Zadron, the dealer in silver. He lost almost everything. In the red mask is Publius, also of the silver merchants, He retains only the belt of silver on his shoulder."
Rogue

NOTE - this quote is merely to show perfume vial sizes. Turbus is of the caste of perfumers and sells his own perfumes. He is not a merchant as merchants sell goods made by others
"Do you sell slave perfume, true slave perfume?" she asked.
"We do not sell perfume for slave sluts in the shop of Veminius," he said, sternly.
"Forgive me, Turbus," she said.
"Try the shop of the Steel Bracelets," he smiled. "It is near the house of Hassan, on the Street of Brands."
"Thank you, Turbus," she said. She turned again, to leave.
"And do not let them overcharge you," he called after her. "Five two-hort vials should cost you no more than a copper tarsk!"

Hair Merchant
In large cities there would be hair merchants who buy the hair and sell it to rope makers and makers of insect whisks etc
The selling of infant daughters is not that unusual in large cities. Some women do it regularly. They make a practice of it, much as they might sell their hair to hair merchants or to the weavers of catapult ropes. Some women, it is rumored, hope for daughters, that they may sell to the slave trade. These women in effect, breed for slaves.
Mercenaries

Too, documents were found recording the purchase of quantities of slave hair, at suitable prices, some even within the city of Corcyrus itself. This hair, as was attested to by witnesses, had been represented to the public as that of free women, with appropriate prices being expected. Hair, incidentally, is a common trade item in Gorean markets. It is used for various purposes, for example, for insect whisks, for dusters, for cleaning and polishing pads, for cushionings, decorations and ropes, particularly catapult ropes, for which it is highly prized.

Odds Merchants
The Gorean bookie - SEE ALSO Banking on Gor
The crowd was now engaged in various pursuits, no fixed center now holding their attention. Several were going about seeking the odds Merchants, several of whom wandered in the stands, but others of whom kept their tables at the foot of the stands, on the sand itself, almost under the nets beneath the rings.
Assassin - At the tarn races in Ar

This race was a short one, only five pasangs in length, and one of the nonfaction birds won, much to the displeasure of the crowd, saving those who had dared to accept the long odds on such a bird.
One man near me had apparently been one of the lucky few for he was leaping up and down screaming with delight.
...
Then, stumbling, and brushing through spectators, few of whom shared his pleasure, he was making his way down to the tables of the odds Merchants.

Assassin

"Where are the merchant tables," I asked a fellow from Torvaldsland, with braided blond hair and shaggy jacket, eating on a roast hock of tarsk, "where the odds on the Kaissa matches are being given?"

Salt Merchant
Transporting caravans of large quantities of salt on trade routes from suppliers to buyers
He sold me to a salt merchant." She regarded me. "I have had many masters," she said.
Marauders

We went to the man. "This is Ibn Saran, salt merchant of the river port of Kasra," said Samos.
The red salt of Kasra, so called from its port of embarcation, was famed on Gor. It was brought from secret pits and mines, actually, deep in the interior, bound in heavy cylinders on the backs of pack kaiila. Each cylinder, roped to others, weighed in the neighborhood of ten stone, or some forty pounds, a Gorean "Weight." A strong kaiila could carry sixteen such cylinders, but the normal load was ten. Even numbers are carried, of course, that the load is balanced. A poorly loaded kaiila can carry far less weight than one on whom the burden is intelligently distributed.

Tribesmen

"Was one of them Oneander, a salt and leather merchant?" I asked. "Yes," said the fellow.
Rogue

Rence Merchant
Purchases rence paper in large bulk rolls from the Rencers, distributing it to other Merchants to be transported and sold across Gor
Rence paper comes in various grades, about eight in all. The rence growers market their product either at the eastern or western end of the delta. Sometimes rence merchants, on narrow marsh craft rowed by slaves, enter some pasangs into the delta to negotiate the transactions, usually from the western edge, that bordering the Tamber Gulf.
Raiders

Between Se'Kara and the winter solstice, which occurs on the first of Se'Var, the rence will be sold or bartered, sometimes by taking it to the edge of the delta, sometimes by being contacted by rence merchants, who enter the delta in narrow barges, rowed by slaves, in order to have first pick of the product.
Raiders

Cloth Merchant
Purchasing bolts and rolls of cloths from the caste of cloth workers, to be sold to others for use
Too, there were cloth merchants, with their silks and rolls of rep cloth.
Tribesmen

Leather Merchant
Dealing in bulk leather
"Was one of them Oneander, a salt and leather merchant?" I asked. "Yes," said the fellow.
